EMF History

Matt Newman started out with the local electricity supplier in Rotorua, New Zealand as an apprentice electrician and began learning about electricity in great detail. Starting with a hydro-electric power station, through to high voltage switchgear and transformers, down to low voltage distribution networks and finally delivered to the end consumer. 
This became a solid foundation to a career in the electrical industry.

Matt continued working as a qualified electrician carrying out industrial, commercial and domestic contracts over the next 20 years. A few of those latter years have been spent managing lighting design and internet projects for a large corporate company.
After moving to the UK in 2001, Matt began the "event" stage of his career with Event Concept as Technical Manager. A position he held for nearly four years in a fast growing company taking on all the technical aspects of electrical, IT and project management.

Matt saw his niche in the market and started EMF Events Ltd in 2005, not only to offer generators and power equipment but to supply a professional service from someone who understands all aspects of the event industry.
